Tipurello and Victoria Lucia took their daughter to a doctor in Lima at the time, believing that the persistent swelling was a sign of a tumor.

But something else they thought had happened was different, and they were both shocked when the doctor told them that their daughter Lena Medina was seven months pregnant. The doctor named the son

She named her son Gerardo, the doctor who performed the caesarean section on her. Mystery lingered in the life of Lena's mother, who became pregnant at a young age in the world. The mystery of who the baby's father was and how he became pregnant remained unraveled. It has now come to light.

Lina Medina was born on September 23, 1933, in one of the poorest villages in Peru, one of nine children. Her young adult pregnancy and maternal incident shocked the villagers as well. One can say why even the doctors could not accept this. They say that Medina may have reached puberty at a young age.

Premature puberty is a rare genetic condition in which a child's body reaches sexual maturity and reaches puberty before the age of eight. Doctors say it usually affects one in 10,000 children. In most cases, the cause of premature puberty cannot be identified. Recent studies, however, show that girls who are sexually abused reach puberty faster than other girls. So it is said that Lena may have reached puberty as a result of having sex at such a young age. According to Dr. Edmundo Escomel, Lena may have had her first menstrual period at the age of eight. On further examination of the 5-year-old Medina, it was found that her breasts and hips were slightly wider than normal and (i.e., postmenopausal) had developed bone.

By the time Lena Medina was pregnant, exactly it might have been her fifth birthday. At the time, doctors say her body was the body of a very small and immature woman. Although premature puberty is said to be one of the reasons for Lena Medina's pregnancy, various doubts have been raised.

After all, she was a small child when she was a mother. So at a young age she must have been subjected to sexual harassment by someone. But Lena did not even tell her father or doctor that she had been sexually abused. It is believed that due to her young age, she may not be fully aware of herself.

When Dr. Escomal asked Lena if anyone had sexually harassed her, she said she did not know who caused it.

Medina's father, DiBurello, was the first suspect in the incident and was jailed. But he was acquitted because no evidence was found against him. DiBurello vehemently denied that he had any physical contact with his own daughter.

Journalists invited him for an interview to ask him various questions based on events in Medina's life. But Medina and her family flatly denied it.

In a 1955 interview, Lena's son Gerardo was asked various questions. Then he said he just wanted to be a good doctor. He also refused to talk to his mother about the young pregnancy. Gerardo died in 1979 at the age of 40 from a bone disease.

Lena married Raul Jurato in the early 1970s and gave birth to her second child at the age of 39.
